Alloy 642 Aluminum Silicon Bronze

Sequoia Brass & Copper sells alloy 642 aluminum silicon bronze. The addition of aluminum to copper generally improves its corrosion-resistance. High strength, hardness, wear resisting qualities and good resistance to corrosion fatigue are attributes of this alloy.


This product is excellent for being hot formed or forged. Copper alloy 642 is non-magnetic and has the highest machinability rating of all bronzes and brasses. 642 aluminum silicon bronze comes in bar, rod, and shapes product forms. Other applications include gears, marine hardware, nuts, pole line hardware, and valve bodies and components.
